The Ark of Remembrance Trilogy

What if memory could be preserved—not as data, but as lived experience?
And what if the fight to protect it demanded more than intelligence, courage, or power?

Set in the futuristic African city of Zanzara, The Ark of Remembrance is an Afrofuturist sci-fi romance trilogy that follows Zahra Sombi, a visionary engineer and Arkkeeper who builds a revolutionary system designed to preserve four hundred years of Black American history as living memory.

The Ark does not archive the past.
It allows people to feel it—to walk through joy, grief, resistance, and survival as they were lived.

But memory is never neutral.

As the Ark grows in influence, so do the forces determined to reshape, soften, and control what it remembers. Political pressure mounts. Corruption slips in quietly. A digital threat known as the Hush evolves beyond silence into something more insidious: history rewritten to behave.

Across three novels, Zahra’s journey unfolds from creator to guardian to woman forced to choose what legacy truly means—when power, love, and truth collide.

At the center of the trilogy is Zahra’s relationship with Elijah Jamison, a brilliant cybersecurity expert whose past is entangled with the very threat they are fighting. Their enemies-to-lovers arc unfolds against rising stakes, where intimacy becomes dangerous and trust must be rebuilt under fire. The romance is not a subplot—it is woven into the ethical heart of the story, asking what it costs to love honestly in a world shaped by surveillance, control, and fear.

The Ark of Remembrance explores:

  • Memory as power—and as resistance

  • The danger of “safe” history

  • Love tested by ambition, betrayal, and impossible choices

  • Legacy not as inheritance, but as responsibility

Each book deepens the emotional and thematic stakes:

  • Daughter of the Sahel introduces the Ark and the first signs of corruption beneath its promise.

  • Guardian of the Sahel forces Zahra to defend memory as it begins to act on its own.

  • Bride of the Sahel brings the story to its final reckoning, where love, truth, and future must be claimed together—or lost.

Blending Afrofuturism, high-stakes science fiction, and emotionally grounded romance, The Ark of Remembrance is a trilogy about what we choose to remember, what we are asked to protect, and who we become when the past refuses to stay quiet.
